Opening video with Dandelion as theme kicked off the CDF 10th Anniversary Ceremony

The CDF 10th Anniversary Ceremony - Celebrating 10 Years of Dreams for Future was held on 9 March 2019 (Saturday) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 1 000 children, their mentors and family members, as well as representatives of CDF strategic partners, supporting organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and schools were present to enjoy the reminiscence of the CDF’s past achievements.

Among the officiating guests were the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mrs Carrie LAM, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr LAW Chi-kwong, the Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare cum Chairperson of the Steering Committee on the Child Development Fund, Ms CHANG King-yiu, the Deputy Secretary for Labour and Welfare (Welfare) 1, Miss TAI Shuk-yiu and members of the Steering Committee on the Child Development Fund. The ceremony marked an official launch of new batches of 37 CDF projects, comprising 27 seventh batch of NGO-run projects and 10 fifth batch of school-based projects, is expected to support a total of over 2 500 grassroots children and youths.

Mrs LAM wished for every CDF participant to discover their own path, put the fund’s spirit into full play, boldly explore and actualise their dreams, and rise to all kinds of challenges in pursuit of a brighter future. Graduation Ceremony for Child Development Fund Projects

Also held on the same day was the graduation ceremony for the fifth batch of NGO-run projects and the second batch of school-based projects, with more than 3 300 graduates under a total of 37 projects. Certificates of recognition were presented to project operators, outstanding mentors, strategic partners and supporting organisations.

The anniversary celebration featured a unique and meaningful composition of masters of ceremonies comprising two social workers (both participating in the operation of CDF projects since the establishment of the fund in 2008) and two project graduates.
